On Monday, July 8th, from 6:30p – 7:45p, the Fremont Branch of the Seattle Public Library will hold the first of what will hopefully become a quarterly series of poetry evenings, co-hosted with Floating Bridge Press.
Two local poets, Juniper White and Steven Quig, will read from their works – published and unpublished – and discuss poetry with audience members. Those in love with poetry as well as those completely ignorant are encouraged to attend and enjoy. Read more about the reading in the Fremocentrist.com column from July 1st, or go to the SPL website.
Also, for those looking for more prose, on Tuesday, July 9th, from 6:30p – 7:45p, the Fremont Library Book Group will hold their monthly meeting to discuss a book from the SPL collections. For July, they will discuss ‘The Tenth Muse,’ by Judith Jones. For their next meeting, on August 13th, the book under discussion will be ‘Howards End’ by E.M. Forster. Copies of both books can be checked out through the SPL, (get details from the circulation desk in the Fremont Branch,) and will be due back on the night of the book group discussion.
For more information on any of this, visit the SPL website – Fremont Branch page – or stop by our local library, any time, and talk to the staff.
