“Nobody will ever deprive the American people of the right to vote except the American people themselves and the only way they could do this is by not voting.” – Franklin D. Roosevelt
Tuesday, August 6th, ballots for the King County primary election must be mailed. Ballots for registered voters living in the Fremont area contain primaries for several influential elected officials including King County Executive, Mayor of Seattle, and City Council positions.
This ballot also contains a vote on a levy for County Parks. See ‘where to return your ballot’ for King County on-line. Also, a voter’s guide for the City of Seattle portion of the ballot can be found on-line.
In the United States of America, the right to vote is a right taken for granted by many, while around the world, the right to vote does not necessarily exist.
From Wikipedia on ‘voting’: “A vote is a formal expression of an individual’s choice in voting, for or against some motion (for example, a proposed resolution), for a certain candidate, a selection of candidates, or a political party.” A democratic system of election depends on the people exercising their right to vote.
“Bad officials are elected by good citizens who do not vote.” – George Jean Nathan
