‘Poisoning Pigeons’ and ‘Das Barbecü’ At West Of Lenin for a Limited Time

Final weekend coming up for the outrageous and irreverent ‘Poisoning Pigeons In The Park’ at West of Lenin theatre.  This showcase of the radical and risqué songs of Tom Lehrer shows the enduring relevance of the writer’s biting wit.  Tickets still remain for the final two shows – August 9th – 11th.  Purchase your place for this intellectually interesting, musically memorable show through Brown Paper Tickets.

‘Pigeons…’ will fly away Sunday, to make room for the ‘Das Barbecü’ of the season – a limited run of a witty Texas fable based on one of the stories in Richard Wagner’s ‘The Ring’ cycle, Gotterdammerung.

On August 12, 13, & 14th, at 7:30p, five highly-regarded actors/singers will perform the music of Seattle composer Scott Warrender, with books and lyrics by Jim Luigs.  At breakneck speed, with songs influenced by Broadway, Texas swing, jazz, country/western, etc., ‘Das Barbecü’ tells the story of mismatched lovers who meet on the day of their shotgun double wedding, involving three generations of feuding families and a magic ring of power.  This fast and furious love letter to Wagner’s great epic, directed by Richard Ziman, will entertain and engage everyone even passingly familiar with the operatic classic.
