Come out to the ball game – and help our boys & girls find a safe place to play and learn after school with the Ballard and Wallingford Boys & Girls Clubs. On Sunday, May 4th, starting at 2p, the ‘Field Of Our Dreams’ Celebrity Softball Game will take the field, on the B.F. Day School Upper Playgrounds – and they need people to turn out to support and watch our kids, and celebrity mentors, enjoying a game.
Tickets will be sold at the gate, for a donation of $10. Presented by Stone Turtle Health and sponsored by the Rotary Club of Fremont, a Fremont Chamber of Commerce community grant, as well as many area businesses (including Mockingbird Books, Orthopedic Specialists of Seattle, Exclusive Realty, Carter Subaru, Limback Lumber, and History House,) this neighborhood afternoon game will be a terrific way to support our girls and boys.
The Ballard Boys & Girls Club offers many different sports programs, to engage kids in a directed way while they learn discipline, sportsmanship and that exercise can be fun! The Wallingford Boys & Girls Club has a widely-praised drop-in program that provides the kids with a safe place to gather with friends, get help with homework, and avoid being home alone after school. Both Clubs provide scholarships to those kids, and their families, who can’t afford the annual membership fee or other, assorted costs – often the kids who need the programs most. The ‘Field Of Our Dreams’ Softball Game will help fund this scholarship program.
