On Friday, June 20th, after 10p, vehicle traffic will be slowed for the moving of floats and other materials southbound along Fremont Ave N from N 39th St to N 36th, then westbound along N 36th St to NW 2nd Ave. This is the ‘reverse parade’ as volunteers and artists move their creations in preparation for tomorrow’s spectacular Fremont Arts Council Solstice Parade, to take place at 3p.
Those who choose to drive N 36th St during this move may be slowed, or even stopped, along the westbound lane, for a brief time. All safety precautions have been considered and will be taken to ensure that everyone gets to their destinations intact. They just may not get there as fast as they might like.
For those who want to kick back and enjoy what promises to be a rather singular sight, several eateries along N 36th St have great places to watch the colorful and chaotic procession: Qazi Indian Curry House, Kwanjai Thai, Norm’s Eatery, The Ballroom, Kaosamai, Nectar Lounge, LTD Bar + Grill, Woodsky’s, Outlander Brewing, George & Dragon Pub and Chiliies Paste. Or, arrive early, set up your blankets for tomorrow’s parade and watch the pre-show from the sidewalks.
Please, whatever you decide to do, bring your patience and your spirit of party!
