The World Affairs Council hosts youth from around the globe for leadership programs that include mentoring, school visits, and intensive project work on topics such as grassroots democracy, ethnic tolerance, youth leadership, social entrepreneurship, international understanding through art, political leadership, and volunteerism. The World Affairs Council also arranges home stays for the youth visitors, and needs local families that seek to make connections with exceptional visitors.
This summer, Mexican youth leaders chosen by the U.S. Department of State will visit Seattle, from July 21st – August 2nd, to learn about Peaceful Conflict Resolution. Host families are needed, to provide a safe place for the students, and a sharing of cultures, languages and meaningful experiences.
Apply to be a host on-line, for the Mexican youth leaders, or for another World Affairs Council program. From July 24th – 30th, youths from North Africa and the Middle East, will visit, and from August 12th – 23rd, another program will bring youth from China.
