On Saturday, October 4th, at 3p, at History House, Fremont Artist & Historian Roger Wheeler will share from his extensive collection of clippings and stories about our community. Learn more about his personal experiences growing up in Fremont, and about the events and people that made this area what it is today.
Wheeler arrived in Fremont, with his family, in the 1950s. He remained a resident as he achieved adulthood, operating an art supply store, playing in the Fremont Tavern house band, helping found the Fremont Arts Council and finally working for the Fremont Sunday Market. Meanwhile, Wheeler built a career as an acclaimed artist, making iconic masks and sculptures.
Come enjoy this free, educational presentation, given in the comfort of the History House salon. Sponsored by HomeStreet Bank, this is one in a series of Fremont Fireside Chats aimed at bringing to life the people, culture and events that have made Fremont into the Center of the Universe. Stay after the one-hour Chat for a juice-and-cookie reception, and a chance to ask all your questions about Fremont, and Fremont history.
We hope to see you there!
