The Barrel Thief Wine & Whiskey Bar has partnered with the North Seattle College to offer courses to those seeking more, formal knowledge in wine and spirits.
On May 4th, from 6:30p – 9p, learn about pairing wine with food with instructors David LeClaire, Sommelier, and Christopher Gronbeck, Barrel Thief owner. For those who love wine, and love food, learn about how to make them magical together, and avoid the potential for crash and burn. Learn the basics of food and wine pairing – what works, what doesn’t and why – and leave the class with the confidence to select and serve dinners that will leave your guests in awe. Register on-line for this class through the North Seattle College website.
On May 18th, learn to create the perfect cocktail with Christopher Gronbeck. Cocktails have recently exploded in popularity and the choices for ingredients have expanded dramatically. Sadly, not every recipe works – ingredients need to be balanced, but kept interesting, and pouring along that fine line is what you can learn in this informative class. Learn the fundamentals of creating tasty cocktails, including basic flavor principles, recipes, and introductory mixology techniques. Register for this class, both experimental and hands- on, through North Seattle College on-line.
Both classes require students to be 21 or over, to have picture ID, and to pay a $10 materials fee to the instructor – in addition to the registration fee of $39. Both classes also meet, off campus, at The Barrel Thief – see you there?
