This weekend, a few local events could influence and change traffic patterns around Fremont.
On Saturday, August 8th, from 9a – 7p, the Phinneywood Summer Streets Festival will require rerouting of METRO transit route #5, as Greenwood Avenue North will be closed to thru traffic from 70th Street to 85th Street. Expect buses to take alternate routes, potentially affecting riders coming to and from Fremont.
On Sunday, August 9th, the Lake Union 10K Run/Walk will start, at 7a, from South Lake Union Park with participants running or walking across the Fremont Bridge and along the Burke-Gilman Trail in Fremont east around the lake. The race follows the Cheshiahud Lake Union Loop Trail, and benefits the non-profit Girls On The Run Of Puget Sound.
Keep these activities in mind as you travel to and from Fremont this weekend.
Also, please consider giving your opinions to METRO. They want input on what we want for transit over the next five, 10, and 25 years for a long-range plan being developed. However, the deadline for completing the survey is August 9th. Find the on-line survey here, and learn about how your community will grow over the next 25 years at kcmetrovision.org
