This weekend – September 18th – 20th – the Fremont Oktoberfest will bring merriment, and music, as we all celebrate the start of autumn – and the beer. “With over 100 beers to choose from, you can’t go wrong!,” according to Phil Megenhardt, producer of Oktoberfest, “all music pairs well with ice cold beer.”
From rock to Seattle-soul, twelve local bands will entertain as attendees also sample craft and seasonal brews. On Friday & Saturday, Fremont Oktoberfest is strictly 21+, but on Sunday the festival turns family-friendly, as does the music. Also on Sunday, take part in the riotous fun of the Street Scramble, or the 5K Run/Walk raising money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, walk your pup in the City Dog Cover Dog contest, and watch the always entertaining (and wholly unique) Texas Chainsaw Pumpkin Carving.
Best way of all to take part in Fremont Oktoberfest (and to get free stuff – plus great karma) is as a volunteer! Volunteers are most needed (and acclaimed) for working an evening shift on Saturday, September 19th. Volunteer at Fremont Oktoberfest.com
Tickets to Fremont Oktoberfest can be purchased through Stranger Tickets, and will benefit the Community Grants Program of the Fremont Chamber of Commerce. The Community Grants benefit arts, events, activities, and community-based projects that continue the mission of the Fremont Chamber – to strengthen the business climate and improve the quality of life at the Center of the Universe.
