This week, Town Hall Seattle has organized two televised debates between City Council Candidates for District #6 (West Fremont) and District #4 (East Fremont.) This is a chance for voters to learn more about the candidates – their differences in their stances – to be able to make informed decisions about who deserves a vote.
By November 3rd, Seattle voters will be allowed, for the first-time ever, to vote for a Seattle City Councilmember to specifically represent our districts. Seattle Channel, with Town Hall Seattle, wants to help voters reach an educated decision in this historic vote. Seattle Channel will televise these debates, so those who wish to attend must pre-register and arrive early.
On Wednesday, September 30th, at the Phinney Neighborhood Association, hear a debate between Councilmember Mike O’Brien and Catherine Weatbrook, the candidates for District #6, covering the Fremont area west of Aurora.
On Thursday, October 1st, at 7:30p, at the University Heights Center, voters can get to know, through another debate, District #4 candidates Michael Maddux and Rob Johnson, running for the chance to represent the area that includes Fremont east of Aurora.
Doors to both events will open one-hour before, at 6:30p, so that audience members may take their seats by 7:25p. This debate is free to attend, but pre-registration is required. Register for the District #6 debate by clicking here, and register for the District #4 debate by clicking here.
Also, consider attending another debate between the District #4 Candidates, Rob Johnson and Michael Maddux, at the Good Shepherd Center Chapel at 7p on October 14th. This forum, to be moderated by representatives from the neighborhoods of Ravenna-Bryant, Roosevelt, Wallingford and Wedgewood, is still accepting questions, until October 9th, at Alex@4toExplore.org
