Notices are posted on Kylie’s Chicago Pizza announcing the temporary closure of the delicious, deep-dish pizzeria in the Fremont Village Square building, the last retail business to be in operation over this past summer in this mixed-use commercial/office building. The notice directs people to the Kylie’s Pizza Twitter Feed which first reported a temporary, 11 day closure, on September 11th, then announced an open-ended continuation of the closure on September 22nd.
According to the posting on Sep 22nd, a death, a divorce, partnership and lease issues are keeping the restaurant closed. The Fremont Village Square underwent foreclosure in 2014, when the original owner, and builder, had to relinquish management to the bank. Before and after this, a speedy bleed off of retail tenants has left the ground floor vacant. Kylie’s was the last remaining in operation.
Most of the other Fremont Village Square retail and restaurants have closed for good, but the Fremont Health Club relocated and can now be found in the St. James Tower building on North 34th St. Hopefully Kylie’s will either re-open soon in Fremont Village, or find a great new space for their scrumptious selection of pies!
