On Thursday, December 24th, two of Fremont’s churches offer services that celebrate Christmas, and host community meals to bring us all together.
Church of the Apostles, at Fremont Abbey, will hold a Children and Family Christmas Eve service from 5p – 6:30p. This relaxed service will include stories, communion, Christmas carols, crafts and play, all specifically done with children in mind. They will also hold a Candlelight Mass from 10:30p – Midnight; a beautiful evening celebrating the birth of Christ and praying for peace on earth.
The Fremont Baptist Church will hold its traditional Candlelight Christmas service from 7p – 8p.
Both churches will host public meals for everyone in our community that wants to participate. At 6p, Fremont Baptist will hold its free holiday meal. From 6:30p – 9:30p, Church of the Apostles will be serving a tamale dinner, with rice and beans. They are asking for a $5 freewill donation, and for contributions of drinks, sides or treats to share, but mostly they ask that you bring yourself, and any friends and family, looking for a community in which to share the Feast of the Nativity this Christmas Eve.
