Local Fremont business, Serials Solutions, received top honors, on May 26th, from the Software & Information Industry Association. The groundbreaking discovery service, SummonTM, earned the 2011 CODiE Award for Best Enterprise Search Solution.
Information industry professionals named the Summon service the winner after rigorous evaluation using standardized criteria including usability, content, technology and visual interface. “The Summon service’s innovative approach and unique technological architecture were driven by an intense focus on the needs of customers and as a result, it has redefined ‘discovery’ for the library and its users,” said Michael Gersch, general manager of Serials Solutions. “We’re absolutely honored.”
The Summon™ service launched in 2009, bringing the simple, easy, fast and familiar searching found on the open web to library searching. Now in use in hundreds of major academic libraries around the world, the Summon™ service is bringing students back to the library for research, enabling libraries to earn a greater return on their collection.
