Moonlight Float Move – and the Solstice Parade Build Final Days

This Friday night, June 17th, starting at 9p, you can witness the most amazing spectacle ever – the Solstice Parade in reverse!

The floats that will be on-the-road for the parade on Saturday at Noon need to be moved into place – they are big, they are heavy, and many hands make light work.  Plus, it’s a great way to help the parade, and get a sneak peek!

If you can come help, make sure you wear your light clothing, any ‘things-that-go-blink-in-the-night’ that you may have on-hand, and if you have a bike – bring it along!

Volunteers are also needed during the parade:

  • Monitors: This most important job requires people with the ability to wear a uniform and give kind, but firm rule reminders – plus it means getting an in-front-of-front-row spot to view the parade.
  • Check-in Divas: Help register, and keep track, of all the ensembles and musicians to guarantee a safe, sane and joyous parade.
  • Chalk Fairies: Distribute chalk along the parade route – please provide your own wings…
  • SOL Distributors: Hand out copies of the Fremont Arts Council newspaper/parade program along the route, just before the main event.
  • Green Hat Ensemble: They have sashes, hats, visors and everything else you will need to help collect donations from parade spectators.  If you really want to help the Solstice Parade – and guarantee this magic happens again next year – be a part of the Green Hat!

For more information, and description, of these positions – check the Fremont Arts Council website.  To sign up, or find out about other last minute volunteer tasks, contact volunteer@fremontartscouncil.org
