Born in Shreveport, Louisiana, Davies was raised in Port Orchard, Washington. He started playing guitar and writing songs at the age of twelve, and by the age of seventeen, he had written an album’s worth of material for the Seattle group, The Wailers. He recorded his first album, “Silent Song Through The Land,” for A&M Records. He went on to have his songs performed by Three Dog Night, David Bowie, John Kay (of Steppenwolf), Dave Edmunds, Maria Muldaur, Helen Reddy, Long John Bauldrey, Joe Cocker, Merry Clayton, Anne Murray, Dobie Grey, The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Kevin Welsh, Ricky Skaggs, and Gail Davies (Ron’s sister.) His second album, “U.F.O.,” engaged the impressive talents Billy Preston, Andy Newmark, Wilton Felder, David Spinoza, Clarence McDonald, and Claudia Lennear.
Bottom line: One hell of a songwriter! Please buy your tickets early, and come enjoy a show of spectacular talent and excellent songwriting.
