This weekend, September 15th – 17th, West of Lenin will host the delightfully dark American Fairy Tales of the Bret Fetzer & The Moonshine Revival Tent for three nights only!
This latest fusion of storytelling and song by long-time fabulist Bret Fetzer brings to Fremont two fairy-tales set in a world half-Appalachia / half Dust Bowl:
- The newest tale, The Trial of Pastor Goodson, tells of the fervent pastor from the second smallest congregation in Rhode Island who decides to go into the wilderness to save souls and spread the Word. Once there, the wilderness turns out to be less receptive to his message than Pastor Goodson expected.
- In addition, enjoy Sweetheart In A Chicken Coop, about a hapless young man whose careless and carefree fiancée becomes more than a little upset when he finds a different love in the form of a runaway girl who has been transformed into a chicken.
Tickets can be purchased to this latest offering from Moonshine Revival through the West of Lenin website, although Thursday, September 15th is pay-what-you-can.
While at WofL, make sure to check out the new gallery show by Jessica Dodge. With a history of set painting for Seattle Children’s Theater, INTIMAN, Pacific Northwest Ballet and Seattle Opera, along with set design for Annex Theater, Theater Schmeater, and Book-It Theatre, Dodge has spent almost 30 years displaying her studio work painting and prints at galleries across the U.S. and Europe – and now the Center of the Universe.
