Help Beat New Jersey! At the 2011 Red, White & Dead

Yes, Saturday, July 2nd starting at 2p is all about zombie culture, zombie fun and brains – for you.  But for the Fremocentrist.com, this year’s Red, White & Dead fest – particularly the annual Zombie Walk through Fremont that begins its lurch at 6p – is about securing our World Record.  So, slather on some fake blood, slip on a something worn and ripped (you know you were going to anyway…) and stagger down to North 35th Street & Phinney Avenue North for an afternoon zombie party!

According to the ZomBcon website, New Jersey currently holds the official record for zombies, at 4,093 in attendance in October 2010.

Yet, last year, over 6,500 people attended Red, White & Dead.  If every one of those folks were dressed in zombie attire, they’d qualify for the official count by the Guinness Book of World Records.  Help Fremont maintain the title of ‘World’s Largest Zombie Walk In The World!”  Is that too much to ask?

On the ZomBCon website, check out the afternoon line-up of live music, Thriller dance, and a fashionably undead costume contest (guest judges will be members of the Rat City Roller Girls.

More information can also be found on the ‘Let’s Beat New Jersey!’ Facebook page.

Proceeds from two beer gardens at the festival will support Reel Grrls.  Purchase tickets to Red, White & Dead through StrangerTickets, although getting your zombie on and lurching ‘round the ‘hood costs nothing.

Also, for those who need help with make-up (and realizing the inner zombie) check out photos of last year’s undead and/or visit the Fremont Arts Council booth Friday, July 1st, from 6p-9p at the Lenin statue for help from a special effects expert.

And then go, and enjoy them brains!
