The day after Halloween, the Fremont First Friday Art Walk returns to our neighborhood – giving a second reason (beyond Halloween pub crawls, trick-or-treat or the TrollOween haunt) to explore and engage with our creative and celebratory community. On Friday, November 1st from 6p – 9p, come see the art and meet the artists, and enjoy the evening!
Check the Fremont First Friday Art Walk website to see a list of potentially participating venues (click here,) but be sure to stop by:
- Portage Bay Goods – See the spooky monsters and ghoulish goblins of Justin Hillgrove this month, and enjoy his creative take on modern society and cultural creatures, mixed with his own imaginative ones. His colorful world of imps and monsters will be on-display, along with some of the products he’s created and PBG carries.
- Frame Up Studio – Experience the sheer joy of the paintings of Eli Wolff, and his unique blending of science fiction and surrealism. Reactions to his artwork have been either amusement or bewilderment, and his use of fantastical creatures and cultural icons is similar to that of Justin Hillgrove – a symmetry of the shows will make delightful viewing for Art Walk visitors.
- Friday Afternoon Tea – Local ceramics artist Andrea Wolf, of Fire Wolf Studios, will showcase her one-of-a-kind matcha bowls, cuddlemugs and espresso cups, among other gorgeous, unique pieces. In addition, the tea shop will also host Black Magic Sweets and a special Dia de los Muertos macaron pop-up! Find more details on the Facebook Events page.
The Fremont First Friday Art Walk is a great, free way to spend an evening exploring the neighborhood and meeting the makers of original art, and seeing the venues that host it. Find out more about the FFF Art Walk on the website (click here.)
