FamilyWorks Provides Opportunities To Help Families In Need

FamilyWorks would like to give families in need this holiday season access to experiences they can share together – like visiting Woodland Park Zoo. Can you help?

The FamilyWorks food bank and Resource Center can always use our help in assisting those in need in our community, but during the holidays that need is so much greater.

This year, as part of the preparation for the Family Holiday Program, FamilyWorks asked participants what they need.  What they learned is that, for many of the participants, the holiday season is a time to come together as a family and to build community.  To support this desire, FamilyWorks would like help by finding items that provide meaningful holiday experiences for the participating families.

FamilyWorks asks for donations of gift cards, certificates, and vouchers (in $25 or $50 denominations) to:

  • Museums, Aquariums, Zoos, and other cultural experiences
  • Movie theaters, and other family entertainments
  • Restaurants, plus Fred Meyer, QFC, Safeway and WinCo
  • Ross, Marshalls, Burlington and Target

Find out more about the Family Holiday Program, and how you can help, on the FamilyWorks website (click here.)  If you can donate, please give your gift by Monday, December 9th.

FamilyWorks can also use volunteers on Supermarket Saturdays.  Visit the FamilyWorks website to learn more about this outreach and donation collection effort – and to sign-up for a volunteer slot today!
