At Nalanda West, learn to Meditate or take time to practice. Start the new year with new experiences, or strengthening your mindfulness techniques. See your mind. Free your mind. Meditate.
On Wednesdays, January 8th – 29th, from 7p – 8:30p, attend a ‘Beginning Meditation’ course designed to help those new to this practice, as well as those intermediate mediators. The course combines instruction in meditation and embodied mindfulness, offered in an interactive question and answer format with group practice in brief sessions. The four-sessions are free, with no reservation required. Click here to learn more.
For those already comfortable in their meditation practice, join in for Open Meditation.
On Sundays, at 10a join in for Meditation Instruction, followed at 10:30a for chants and open meditation for one hour. No experience is necessary, and all are welcome at no cost (donation accepted.) The brief instruction will be in Calm Abiding/Shamatha meditation posture and technique. Following the Open Meditation, at Noon, there will be brunch. Learn more on the Nalanda West website (click here.)
On Tuesdays, from 7p – 8p, join in on Open Meditation that also starts with a short instruction, then chants. The Open Meditation alternates sitting and walking meditation, starting with mindfulness of breathing. Come calm the mind and bring forth its natural qualities of spaciousness, clarity and attentiveness. All are welcome! Find out more on-line (click here,) or through Facebook.
“Meditation is a process of becoming familiar with our mind just as it is, and then learning how to relax within it.” – Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche
