To its valued guests, and anyone able in our community, the Heavy Restaurant Group, which operates Claret, Fiasco and Pablo Y Pablo restaurants in east Fremont, has asked for help for its servers. After having to layoff its staff with very short notice, Heavy Restaurants have started a GoFundMe page to raise money for the restaurant ‘family’.
Begun 19 years ago, with the Purple Café & Wine Bar in Woodinville, Heavy Restaurants has grown to 10 restaurants around our region. A family of chefs, cooks, dishwashers, servers, bartenders, hosts, bussers, expeditors, food runners, and managers, these 500 employees are described as some of the most creative, hardworking, well-humored, resilient and passionate people in these communities.
In an effort to flatten the curve of COVID-19, Heavy Restaurant Group shut down operations completely. It leaves Heavy Restaurants unable to support the staff, and they have launched a GoFundMe (click here) to give financial relief to their staff in need. Any amount is greatly appreciated, and 100% of the money raised will be distributed to the team.
The unpredictable nature of the pandemic is having heart-breaking health and economic consequences. Quoting The Beatles, ‘I get by with a little help from my friends,’ the Heavy Restaurant Group wishes everyone to stay healthy and looks forward to a time for welcoming everyone back to the restaurant.
