The COVID-19 crisis is causing some serious strife for our small businesses, but it is also offering some incredible opportunities for assisting these amazing, unique shops – while benefiting customers!
Right now, The Barrel Thief Wine & Whiskey Bar is closed for regular service until the State of Washington deems it safe for restaurants and pubs to re-open. Yet, under the directive that these businesses can do Take-Out business, and sell spirits (thanks to an exception made by the Washington State Liquor Board,) the Barrel Thief is holding a Pop-Up Sale on April 4th.
Starting Monday, March 30th, the Barrel Thief Wine & Whiskey Bar will be listing, on-line, a variety of spirits and wines – a collection of high-quality items like customers expect in the elegance of the Barrel Thief – that can be pre-purchased. This may be a rare chance to purchase over 200 different kinds of fine spirits, including items never found in retail.
Among the items for sales are:
- half or full cases of wine
- beer & cider
- whiskey
- other spirits
The Barrel Thief website (click here) will have a list of all available products up starting on Monday, Mar 30th, with pricing, and updates. Items need to be pre-ordered and pre-paid, for pick-up on Saturday, April 4th.
On April 4th, from 3p – 6p, staff will be at The Barrel Thief to fill orders, including delivering purchases to cars parked curbside.
One provision of the Washington State Liquor Board is that all alcohol purchases must be accompanied by a purchase of food – so Barrel Thief will be selling delicious, pre-made tamales! When placing your order for spirits (click here,) also place your order for the number of tamales you and your friends and family will need.
For large orders (>$250), delivery within Seattle may be possible, for an additional fee. Please write to christopher@bthief.com for specific information.
High standards of hygiene are taken extremely seriously at The Barrel Thief, and everything being sold will be sanitized, as will all surfaces on April 4th. All staff will be wearing protective gear and changing gloves often. Expect this Pop-Up Sale to be held in sanitary and safe conditions, and require little contact – for a great reward!
