From April 22nd – 26th, everyone can enjoy in their COVID-19 ‘Stay Home, Stay Healthy’ seclusion the bawdy explosion of glamour, comedy, dance and burlesque that usually Verlaine & McCann bring to The Triple Door. Their spring show, ‘Through The Looking Glass: The Burlesque Alice In Wonderland’ has been reworked, and will be performed, live, and on-line, in a new package as ‘Wonderland In Quarantine’. Tickets start at $25, with early-bird discounts available.
This unprecedented, three-hour, interactive experience is for longtime fans of the work of Lily Verlaine & Jasper McCann, as well as first-time viewers. It’s a full screening of the adult ‘Through The Looking Glass’ with commentary, led off by a peek backstage, accompanied by a jazz performance by The Aces & 8’s, and followed by a question & answer with the producers and performers. Each night will feature different performers engaging in different ways, so it is possible to have an entirely new experience every time. This presentation has been created in hopes that Verlaine & McCann can find a way to provide an income for their theater company, and all the artists involved in it – while giving audiences an enjoyable evening of entertainment, with the physical distancing we need right now.
Featuring top-notch local dance talent, exciting choreography and sumptuous costuming, ‘Through The Looking Glass’ features a go-go jazz score and the superstars of Seattle’s burlesque community.
