A Chance to See a New Fremont Mural at the July Art Walk

On Friday, July 9th, from 6p – 9p, the Fremont Art Walk will showcase the art all around the Center of the Universe.  The First Friday Art Walk shifted one week back, to better allow for exploration by art lovers and willing walkers, but it also gives everyone a chance to see one of Fremont’s newest art pieces.

During the Summer Solstice Art Week, the Fremont Arts Council commissioned four murals to be painted.  One, by friend of Fremont, and accomplished artist, Kelly Lyles, captured images and the color of the legendary Fremont Arts Council’s Solstice Parade.  That piece, named ‘Fremont Parade’, is up for auction, and on-display (temporarily) at the Down Under Gallery.

In addition to displaying the mural, the Down Under Gallery has original art on display, inside, by local artist Rosie Namara, who has hung pieces from two shows, ‘What Is A Border’ and ‘Flowerful People.’  Namara’s works will be in the Gallery through July, along with two original poems, inspired by the shows, by poet Austin Eudy.  The Gallery also has pieces on display by Bad Bad Ricky, Rodman Miller, Jose A Benevides, Adrian Laney, and the featured artist for August, Sarah Weathers of Vibrant Poppy.

Frame Up Studios has carried over, for July 2021, its popular Fremont Fair Poster Retrospective, including posters from the Summer Solstice Art Week!

At the Fremont Art Walk on July 9th, visitors can also find art being shown at:

It’ll be a great night for visiting your favorite Fremont eateries and bars, or just strolling on a summer’s evening.  Just be sure to stop by the Lenin Statue, to enjoy music by Ricky Gene Powell – and get your art on!

At Esters, see glass by Gary Polinsky – with all sales going to support the Fremont Arts Council!

The Fremont Art Walk will return to First Friday (click here for more information,) in August – along with the Fremont Fringe, a live art performance extravaganza produced by VAM Studios (click here.)  However, for July, the Fremont Art Walk is the kick-off to a weekend of opportunities, with the Fremont Dungeness Festival on Saturday, July 10th, from Noon – 4p (see the Facebook Event page for more information.)  On Sunday, everyone will want to return to the Center of the Universe for another amazing installment of the Fremont Sunday Market, from 10a – 4p.

There is always art and activity to enjoy and explore in Fremont!  We hope you will come join in the fun!
