On Thursday, September 25th at 7p, enjoy tastings of Cognac and it’s cousin Armagnac in the The Velvet Room of The Barrel Thief Wine & Whiskey Bar. The folks at The Barrel Thief like grapes, and they think that one of the best things to be done to a grape is to turn it into cognac, a spirit they declare one of supreme elegance.
For $30, attendees will get tastes of Cognac and Armagnac from top producers such as A.E. Dor, Paul Beau, Dudognon, Chateau Fontpinot, Gelas, Chateau de Laubade, Chateau Pellehaut, and Tariquet. These will be VS, VSOP, and XO grades as well as Hors d’Age, Cognac ‘beyond age’ over three decades old.
However, this will be an educational tasting, for attendees to learn about Cognac and Armagnac grapes, grades, appellations, and styles. Learn how to enjoy them and what makes these two spirits special in their own ways.
