This Friday, September 5th, from 6p – 9p, many Fremont venues will be open for your Art Walk-ing enjoyment. In addition to the usual Fremont First Friday suspects, a few businesses will be open and offering special September-only celebrations.
The new location of the Fremont Starbucks (at the former Peet’s) has their grand opening scheduled from 5p – 10p on Friday, with live music, free samples (from 5p – 7p,) and trivia contests. Even non-Starbucks drinkers might want to stop in and check out the newly remodeled space – and the back art wall.
West of Lenin, the black box theater in West Fremont, is getting in on the Art Walk with a display of photos by the late Nick DeWolf. WoL impresario A.J. Epstein is reportedly very passionate about this exhibit, and he will talk about the display, and his desire to share it with Fremont, at 7p.
In between these two venues, stop by Portage Bay Goods for the detailed and imaginative art of Ben Wilson. PBG always has plenty worth seeing, as well as things to nosh upon.
Also, check out the art of Chanda Castillo at Fremont Jewelry Design on September 5th. This collection of vibrant acrylic paintings and collages will be on display all month at the fine jewelry shop, but stop by during the FFF to possibly meet the artist and enjoy the party atmosphere.
The First Friday Art Walk is a party in motion, celebrating art and our fondness for creative self-expression. This Friday, check out all the venues (see the list on the FFF website,) and enjoy the last summer evening of art walking this year in Fremont.
