On Thursday, July 4th, NalandaWest will be hosting members and friends of Nalandabodhi for a Celebration of the Paramita of Generosity starting at 3p.
This afternoon will include a talk by Mitra Tyler Dewar on Mahayana Buddhism’s teachings and practices included within the six paramitas, or six transcendent virtues. July is the month of generosity, and this event will also include a collection of donations of an item (or more) of food or clothing, to be given to Northwest Harvest, Camp Second Chance, and other charities.
The Celebration of Generosity will also include a pot-luck barbecue, with all guests asked to bring food or non-alcoholic drinks. The entire event will be preceded by Tara Practice at 1:30p in the NalandaWest center.
