This Friday, August 1st, from 6p – 9p, spend time strolling Fremont and viewing art during the always-free First Friday Art Walk. The FFF website will give names of participating venues, but a few worth noting are:
- Portage Bay Goods – featuring fiber artist Jessica Vehorn of Gild Studio. Seattle-based Vehorn enjoys exploring the interactions of color, texture and form using fabric, needle, and thread. Come see her wall hangings, pillows and quilts in the colorful, whimsical atmosphere of Fremont’s favorite procrastinator’s gift shop.
- Frame Up Studios – featuring a first exhibition by painter Tara Flores. Come see Flores’ paintings – deemed a testament to the boundlessness of the creative mind and a terrain upon which life evolves from a subtle interplay of color and light. Explore these abstract paintings, and the wide-selection of custom frames Frame Up always provides. Also, while there, take a look at a new line of Jane Seymour frames, now available.
- Fremont Jewelry Design – featuring paintings by Robert Herdlein. For August, Fremont Jewelry has the mesmerizing acrylic on canvas paintings of Herdlein, with their highly worked surfaces that bring a rich depth of weathered appearance. Take a moment to absorb the creative colors of these works, and the creative, unique jewelry pieces the store specializes in offering year ‘round.
The Fremont First Friday Art Walk offers, every month, an excuse to walk the ‘hood, and explore a vast variety of venues and artists with friends and family. For more on the all-ages Art Walk, stop by the website – or just get out walking this Friday, August 1st, from 6p to 9p!
See you there…
