This weekend, both Friday and Saturday, enjoy a night out under the stars on the parking lot with the Fremont Outdoor Movies. For mid-August, take part in a Friday 21+ fundraiser while enjoying the cult classic ‘Office Space,’ and then gather everyone for a special surprise Saturday screening of the classic ‘Back To the Future.’
All tickets sales on Friday support the Multiple System Atrophy Coalition, sponsored by Jameson Irish Whiskey First Shot. Tickets cost $10 (and can be purchased, in advance, on-line.) Wear a suit, or some flair, and get $5 off! Title sponsor Talenti Gelato proudly presents the small, but hilarious, film ‘Office Space.’ Starring Ron Livingstone and Gary Cole, this slyly comedic 1999 film, by Mike Judge, satirizes corporate culture, and the slacker mindset. Enjoy this surprisingly witty film with Jameson, or a cold can of Fremont Brewing Company beer.
Meanwhile, a percentage of the evening’s proceeds will benefit the Multiple System Atrophy Coalition, to generate awareness of a rare neurological disease formerly known as Shy-Drager Syndrome. The Coalition also provides support for patients, and caregivers, and financing toward meaningful research into a cause and a cure for MSA.
On Saturday, August 16th, go ‘Back To The Future’ with Marty McFly and Doc Brown in high-def, for this 29th Anniversary showing. Due to a schedule conflict, the originally scheduled ‘Ghostbusters’ has been replaced with one of the greatest action comedies of all times, starring one of the most beloved of all modern actors – Michael J. Fox. The all-ages screening will open with seriously cool prizes for early arrivals and those in costume, ready to play! Also, take your photo with the Seattle Time Machine, a replica to the DeLorean from the film.
