The Wallingford Community Senior Center, which serves all seniors (including those in Fremont,) has two exciting events coming up this weekend – which might make most of us wondering if we might be ready to be a senior…
On Saturday, July 20th, Rainbow Bingo Brunch returns, with the Beach Edition! Hostessed by Sylvia O’Stayformore, and friends, ‘seas’ the day in your summer finery (and aloha shirts) to enjoy food, booze and bingo. Tickets, which cost $20, get you in the door of this beachy bonanza, with 10 bingo cards, and a dauber. Food will cost extra, plus drinks, but everyone is at least 21, so lay out your cards and play ‘sands’ restraint. Oh, buoy! Advance tickets are required, and can be purchased on-line through EventBrite (click here.)
On Sunday, July 21st, at 11a, join the Seafair Indian Days Pow Wow outing to Daybreak Star Indian Cultural Center. Native Americans of all tribes, cultures and regions, from the United States, Canada and Alaska, will come together to celebrate. Enjoy the tribal regalia, traditional foods, and fellowship of the Seafair Pow Wow. The van departs the Wallingford Community Senior Center (at the Good Shepherd Center) at 11a, but seats are limited so advance registration will be required. Cost is $8 for WCSC members, or $12 for the public, with admission to the Pow Wow being free, although donations are gratefully appreciated. Save a seat, or two, through the WCSC kiosk website (click here.)
