This week Nectar Lounge has three shows scheduled for local hip-hop legend Sir Mix-A-Lot. The first two shows have already sold out, so if you want to be a part of this historic tour, purchase tickets now to the Sunday, January 31st, also featuring The Good Husbands, Slightly Fragrant, Landon Wordswell and DJ Indica Jones.
Sir Mix-A-Lot, a platinum-selling artist, recorded the bouncy, danceable, bass-heavy ‘Baby Got Back,’ yet he is also a hip-hop pioneer and frequent collaborator, having worked with local grunge, metal and rock bands including Presidents Of The United States Of America, Mudhoney and Metal Church. His three shows, booked at Fremont’s Nectar, have all been scheduled with different opening bands to give fans exposure to a variety of local talent.
For those who can’t get in to see Sir Mix-A-Lot, or want another chance at musical pioneers, consider attending the East Coast’s Kung Fu, performing at Nectar on Saturday, January 30th. These funk pioneers will perform their blistering dance arrangements after sets by The Fabulous Party Boys and n8 & friends.
Tickets to both 21+ only shows can be purchased through the Nectar Lounge website. Get a discount by buying advanced tickets on-line, plus avoid losing a chance at these two very, very popular shows!
