On Saturday, July 13th, at 3:15p, before the PROOF tasting event, the Washington Distillers Guild has scheduled a one-hour seminar on Whiskey, with Christopher Gronbeck of The Barrel Thief.

The ‘Whiskey Business: Sip, Savor & Learn’ seminar will take place at Fremont Studios, and is in addition to PROOF.  For a class fee of $40, attendees will get a fun, whirlwind tour of whiskey distilling in Washington.  Learn the pre-history to the commercial production, begun just a decade ago, and the current trends and future prospects.

For only $40, attendees will be offered tastes of half-a-dozen whiskeys including:

  • Copperworks – Single Malt Whiskey
  • Fremont Mischief – Rye Whiskey
  • Scratch Distillery – American Whiskey
  • Westland – Single Malt Whiskey
  • Woodinville Whiskey Co – Port-Finished Bourbon Whiskey

This is a space-limited seminar, going on before PROOF, with only a few tickets still available (click here.)

Of course, everyone with a discerning palate, and an interest in learning about the award-winning spirits being made in our state, should already have their tickets for PROOF.

With over 40 Distilleries represented, PROOF will be a great place for tasting gin, vodka, bourbon, rum, tequila, liqueurs and whiskey, made in Washington.  In addition, PROOF will have delicious small dishes available for sampling from area restaurants and food vendors, including Theo Chocolate and Bluebird Ice Cream.

Come taste, sip, savor and learn, at the seminar and then at PROOF!  Find out more on the PROOF website (click here.)
