An Introduction to Buddhism On Wednesdays At NalandaWest

Starting on September 30th, at NalandaWest, join ‘Introduction to Buddhism’, a free, weekly class from 7p – 8:30p.  Through November 18th, these weekly classes can be attended as a series, or on a drop-in basis.

The first course will be Buddhism 101, covering:

  • The Buddha was not a Buddhist
  • The World of Suffering, and the Human Condition
  • Taming the Monkey Mind

Other courses in the series will be:

  • Buddhism 102: ‘Traveling from Confusion to Original Sanity’
  • Buddhism 103: ‘Karma, Rebirth, and Selflessness’
  • Buddhism 104: ‘The Four Foundations of Mindfulness’

Each of the courses has an accompanying sourcebook, by Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche, available for purchase in the NalandaWest bookstore.  It is recommended that class readings be done in preparation for each class.

Each class will begin, at 7p, with 10 minutes of meditation instruction.  For more information, visit the NalandaWest website.  The classes are free; donations are accepted.
