Fremont Arts Council (FAC) Board President Barb Luecke has posted a proposed agenda for the arts organizations’ first general meeting of 2016 – at 7:10p next Tuesday, January 12th at the FAC Powerhouse workshop.
The agenda proposed so far includes a welcome (to FAC members, and anyone who wants to attend,) time for 1-minute announcements (again, open to any attendees,) a report from the FAC Board of Directors on the year in review and plans for 2016, information on the upcoming Board election and an opening in the FAC administration, and a debriefing on the Feast of the Winter Solstice last December. Luecke also included space for potential additions to the agenda suggested at the meeting.
“For those wanting to get involved with planning Arts Council activities, this is a good meeting to attend,” Luecke wrote.
Recently, on the FAC Yahoo.com list-serve, and in a separate, private group e-mail discussion, there have been observations about communication failures and processes within the FAC. The FAC has a long history, but very little in the way of models – they are unique among organizations in our area, and arts organizations in the U.S. – which does make it difficult to establish any precedence.
If FAC members, or the general public, want to continue this discussion in person – or get involved in making the FAC better, on the Board or just in general – consider attending this meeting.
In February, the FAC will support the third running of the Petite Troll parade, possibly through the Fremont Sunday Market. The FAC Solstice Parade will take place on June 18th. If you would be interested in learning more about these activities, and getting involved, attend this meeting – and follow the FAC on Facebook, or check out the FAC website.
