On Thursday, October 17th, at 7:30p, the Fremont Abbey Arts Center welcomes Andrew Combs, performing new music from his album ‘Ideal Man’. With long-time collaborators Dom Billet (drums) and Jerry Bernhardt (guitar/keyboard/bass), Combs recorded ‘Ideal Man’ live in producer Sam Cohen’s Brooklyn studio.
At Fremont Abbey, Combs will perform his original songs with a five piece band. His songwriting for the new album has been inspired by his recent work as a painter. “When I paint, I might start with a very abstract idea or maybe even just a feeling,” Combs explained, “but from there I’ll paint and scrape and paint and erase and keep on painting until something starts to take shape. I just let nature play out.” Combs has applied the same approach to his music, beginning songs with an emotion rather than a concept.
Come hear Combs, and his fresh new sounds, during his Fremont Abbey show. Tickets can be purchased on EventBrite (click here.) From here, Combs will be continuing touring across the U.S. and then into Europe. Meanwhile ‘Ideal Man’ will be available in digital, Compact Disk and vinyl versions, through New West Records.
