On Sunday, September 20th, from Noon to 3p, the Art Cars return to Fremont for a second, celebratory Tailgate, in the U-Park parking lot near Theo ChocolateFr, Fremont Mischief, and Indoor Sun Shoppe. This physically distant, precautioned gathering allows everyone to see the cars, and the drivers to show off their daily driving works of art, in addition to strolling the rest of the Center of the Universe on what is often one of the last nice weekends of the year.
This weekend, traditionally, would have seen sidewalks filled around Fremont due to the annual Oktoberfest – but we still have reason to celebrate. As of September 16th, the Fremont Sunday Market marked the start of its 30th Season, and the gated, COVID-19 careful pop-up retail will be on N 34th this Sunday (providing the smoke clears.)
In addition to Art Cars, there will be a booth for the Rotary Club of Fremont, where they will be selling water bottles for charity, and two food trucks. Everyone is also welcome to come buy some delicious:
- Russian dumplings from Alaskan Dumplings food truck
- Soft-serve ice cream from the Cosmic Ice Cream Van
There will also be some surprise guests, and maybe even a pop-up art installation. It promises to be a great stop in a walk-round the neighborhood, and enjoying the small businesses of Fremont.
Thanks to the Fremont Chamber of Commerce, and the Seattle Art Cars, another safe and masked Tailgate will decorate the parking lot – and allow for everyone to enjoy the sight! Find out more on the Facebook event page (click here.)
