The Fremont Arts Council (FAC) seeks qualified, and spectacular, individuals interested in being on the staff of the 24th Solstice Parade, scheduled to take place at Noon on Saturday, June 16th, 2012. The hand-made celebration of the longest day of the year involves street theater, human-powered floats, and community building ensembles creating a kaleidoscope of human expression.
At this time, applications are being accepted for three support staff positions. All require flexible work times, including evening and weekend hours. Volunteers build the Solstice Parade, and the staff provide a framework, encouragement and support for the 200+ people that lend their hands.
Interviews will be conducted with applicants starting March 8th, and continue until the three positions are filled. Those positions are:
- Parade Communications Manager – provides administrative support, manage communication and outreach and coordinate volunteers. Compensation is a $3,250 stipend – no benefits.
- Workshop Manager – provides technical support; float body maintenance; and leads public art studio development for the Solstice Parade. Compensation is $2000. No benefits.
- Studio Coordinator – serves as public greeter, project starter, and chaos manager during hours of operation of the free-to-use public art studio of the FAC Solstice Parade. Compensation is $1,300. No benefits.
Interested applicants should send their letter of interest, resume of related experience, and references to lesliez@fremontartscouncil.org no later than 5pm on March 6th, 2012. More information, including more detailed job descriptions, can be found through the FAC website.
