Artist Sought For North Precinct Development

The City of Seattle Office of Arts & Culture, with the Department of Finance & Administrative Services and the Seattle Police Department, has asked for applications from artists interested in working as part of the team designing and building the New Seattle Police Department North Precinct, and developing art for this new civic building.  The deadline for applications is 11p on Friday, February 14th, 2014.

The artist will need to be able to work closely with representatives from all three City departments, to develop an artwork that can be integrated with the new facility.  The new North Precinct Police Station is planned for construction at the southeast corner of Aurora Avenue North and North 130th Street.  The artist must be an established, professional residing, and eligible to work, in the United States.

SeattleOfficeArts&CultureLogoThe artist selected will receive a commission of $200,000, which includes all costs of design, fabrication and installation of the artwork.  This project is funded through the Department of Finance & Administrative Services 1% for Art funds.
