Artist Vikram Madan Launches Kickstarter To Create Art Coin

Artist Vikram Madan, who is a favorite among Art Walk and Fremont Fair attendees, is creating another unusual project using his art and ingenuity.  He’s launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund the making of a series of coins, to offer alongside other art items he has for sale.

During the pandemic, Madan and others have seen the benefit to ‘Seize the Day’ and he’s created a reminder in the form of an art coin.  Featuring Madan’s Lil’ Reaper character, these coins can be a talisman to the (hopefully soon) bygone days of 2020.  The Lil’ Reaper is a whimsical reminder for living a better life, and the coins remind holders that we should all live well today.

Madan’s Kickstarter is raising money to fund manufacture of the coins, and while it has 23 days to go, it has already met the original goal.  Still, for those who want to be one of the first to see and receive a coin, or a vinyl sticker about them, visit the Kickstarter page (click here.)

Madan, like many of our artists, has struggled through COVID closures with venues and galleries closed or limited in access.  Through this time, Madan has found other ways to keep his art career alive.

  • In the City of Renton, he decorated a Utility Box with a piece called ‘Bee Riders.’ The Box is located at 1512 Kirkland Ave.
  • He has art postcards for sale for those seeking to reach out to others and wanting to stay in touch during these social distancing times. (Click here.)

In addition to all of these projects, Madan is still creating new works, available for viewing (and purchasing) through his on-line store (click here.)  For more information on Madan, visit his website VikramMadan.com
