From September 19th – October 6th, see the Forward Flux Production of ‘A Small History of Amal, Age 7’ on the boards at West of Lenin theatre.  With presenting partner Pratidhwani, Forward Flux have developed this work from a salon piece to the stage for the enjoyment of all ages audiences.

Written by Lindsay Joelle, this is the first fully-produced production of this new, immersive play.  Based in Mumbai, India, in 2006 on the day of the train bombings, the young Amal will use his explorer’s heart, and a little Bollywood magic, to fight the god of death.  Exploring universal issues, through the eyes of a small child, this imaginative play weaves together heartache and triumph, while we examine connections to family, our city and the world.

The cast features the considerable talents of Nabilah Ahmed as Amal, plus Gurvinder Pal Singh, Jay AthalyeSuda, Varsha Raghavan, Abhijeet Rane, and Meenakshi Rishi – all directed by Samip Rayal.  This production has a huge support staff of crew to realize a professional staging.
