On Tuesday, March 6th, from 4:30p – 6:30p, the Seattle Office of Arts & Culture (ARTS) is hosting a free information session for anyone with interest in the Artist-In-Residence program at the Fremont Bridge this summer.  For 2018, ARTS is accepting applications specifically for a musician and/or composer who wants to work and create in the northwest tower of the bascule bridge.  An informational meeting will take place on March 6th at the Fremont Abbey Arts Center for all those who need to know more about this unique, creative opportunity.

Gain assistance with application questions, work samples, letters of interest, resumes, and any other puzzles about the process.  The application is for a practicing composer and/or musician, living in Seattle, interested in an in-depth exploration of the role the Fremont Bridge plays in the city of Seattle, today and in past history, and able to create music around this exploration.

The artist chosen will have a project budget of $10,000, with $5,000 for the residency and $5,000 for sound, presentation and documentation of the project.  Payment will be made in installments, based on benchmarks established by ARTS, in consultation with the chosen artist.

The deadline for applications for the Fremont Bridge Residency is March 20th, at 11p.  Applications will be accepted through the CaFE website.  More information about the process, and the best way to submit materials, will be available at the public meeting on March 6th at the Fremont Abbey.
