The Fremont First Friday Art Walk, on August 5th, runs from 6p – 9p, and offers a great free evening of exploring the neighborhood and seeing great art all around.  Participating venues are listed on the Fremont First Friday website, but highlights this month include:

  • Portage Bay Goods – Enjoy the colorful florals of local artist Jess Phoenix for the first time at Fremont’s gift shop for the thoughtful procrastinator.  The prints, hand-drawn with ink and painted with gold and neon acrylic, create unique compositions available for viewing, and purchase.

  • Frame Up Studios – Explore an extensive collection of beautiful block prints and etchings by Liz Neuman.  Find Neuman’s extraordinary images along with other art and framed prints always found at one of our longest operating retail shops.
  • Art F/X – ‘The Art of Silk Painting’ show displays the work of Shun Lee, an award-winning textile designer, inspired by the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest.  Lee will display her paintings on silk, done using an ancient Chinese practice, as she teaches in her classes in Monroe, Washington.  As she says, “I hope you will enjoy seeing my art on silk and the art works will give you pleasure and a joyful experience.  Several of the pieces that you see in this show are the original designs for some of the textile patterns created during my career.”

Step out on Friday and experience the art, and the venues, of the Fremont Art Walk.  To find out about more venues and artists on display on August 5th, visit the Fremont First Friday Art Walk website.
