Aurora Reimagined Coalition Hosts a Community Survey On ‘99 Problems’

The Aurora Reimagined Coalition has created a website called ‘Got 99 Problems’, asking for feedback on the Aurora Corridor, including the George Washington Memorial Bridge – all known as Highway 99.  The survey describes Aurora as “a long mess of a highway,” and the Coalition believes, according to the website, in an Aurora that puts people first by designing the street for walking, biking and riding transit.

On Sunday, July 11th, the Aurora Reimagined Coalition will hold an Aurora Bridge Audit Walk, documenting issues from N 50th St to N 38th St along the highway.  The walk will start at 10a at the Fremont Troll and take an hour, with video documentation for future use.  The Ballard-Fremont Greenways volunteers are participating in the walk, as a coalition partner.

Even if you cannot take part in one of the Coalition Audit Walks, taking place all along Aurora from N 145th St down to the Tunnel, please consider answering the Community Survey about your favorite and least favorite intersections along this corridor.

According to the Coalition website, Got 99 Problems, there have been 22 people killed in traffic crashes over the last decade.  In 2022, again according to the website, the Seattle Department of Transportation will launch a $2 million study of Aurora’s safety, and its future, and now is the time to influence the scope and vision of City planning.
