Mark your calendar for Friday, December 6th, at 5p, for the 8th Annual Lenin Lighting & 3rd Annual Fremont Festivus celebration.  Come help share in this time-honored tradition, as the Fremont Chamber of Commerce celebrates community, merriment and crass commercialism for a successful holiday shopping season.

This year, enjoy free Starbucks coffee, and pie from Pie, for as long as supplies last.  Fremont’s own Santa is expected, along with traditional Festivus customs of Airing of Grievances, Feats of Strength, and a celebratory Chicken Dance around the Festivus Pole.  The whole event will be emceed by Kirby Lindsay, of Fremocentrist.com, and TV Personality and Producer Penny Legate.

A live band is also a big part of this community celebration, but the Fremont Philharmonic are not available (their getting ready for ‘Dick Whittington & His Cat’ at Hale’s Palladium.)  Another local band, preferably one capable of playing a Christmas carol, or the Chicken Dance, is being sought.  If you know a band available for that night, or have a portable musical instrument you want to play, please contact instigator@box2219.temp.domains

Fremonsters, and all those who enjoy outrageous, alternative gatherings to celebrate obscure holiday traditions, can plan to attend the Lenin Lighting & Fremont Festivus in Red Triangle on December 6th.  Band or not, it promises to be a real hoot!
