Book Larder Brings Back the In-Person Cooking Classes

Once again at Book Larder, join a class and get hands-on instruction in making amazing dishes. Photo provided by Book Larder

After careful consideration and a great many discussions, the Book Larder staff will be bringing back their popular cooking classes, slowly, and with plenty of plans for safe and transmission-less sessions.

With class sign-ups available for September, it is good to get to know the parameters for participants.  A proof of vaccination, and identify, will be required for all students – and there will be no records kept so proof will be required for every session for every student.  All students will need to wear face masks at all times, except when eating, even if vaccinated.  To-go containers will be provided for students who would prefer to keep their mask on, and take the meal with them.  Extra seating will be provided so that students can maintain safe social distances during classes.

All classes will be held outside of regular store hours, which means that lunch break classes will be kept on-hold until they can be returned safely.  Book Larder wants to provide as safe an environment as possible for those ready to engage in more learning.

Upcoming classes include:

  • Thursday, September 9th at 6:30p – Book Larder’s Culinary Director Polina Chesnakova will lead a class in creating Georgian food, understanding Georgian culture and tasting Georgian dumplings. This will be a great evening of iconic Georgian dishes and khinkali.  With limited seats, it is vital that anyone interested in joining this educational evening must RSVP now – click here.
  • Sunday, September 12th from 9:30a to Noon – For those who think pies are too fussy, galettes are much easier and just as impressive! Culinary Director Polina Chesnakova will walk students through the process of making sweet and savory galettes, making use of a variety of flours, and doing it all from scratch.  RSVP on the Book Larder website now (click here.)
