The Seattle Refined website, in partnership with KOMO’s TV show hosted by Gaard Swanson, has a series called ‘Movers & Shakers’.  Recently, ‘Movers & Shakers’ featured Fremont businesswoman and popular caterer Süreyya Gökeri.

Gökeri is co-owner, with her husband, of the delicious, traditional Café Turko.  The small restaurant was born at the Center of the Universe, out of the import store Istanbul Imports.  It is located in the same place where the Gökeris started it, although not in the same building.  Café Turko proved so popular from its first days that when developers decided to build on its site, they asked Süreyya to relocate – back into the new building!

‘Movers & Shakers’, through the writings of Aakanksha Agarwal, share the story of Süreyya’s origins with food and bringing her amazing meals to Fremont.  Read about it on the SeattleRefined.com website (click here,) and learn more about this local hero!
