The Seattle City Office of Arts & Culture has issued a call for artists, in partnership with the Department of Finance & Administrative Services and the Seattle Fire Department, for a permanent or site-integrated art installation for the Roanoke Fire Station #22. The deadline for this call is Monday, June 9th at 11p.
The artist selected must be able to work with the community, the fire fighters and staff, to create a durable, site-specific art work, incorporating the work and spirit of the firefighters and the unique character of the surrounding neighborhood. The artist needs to be an established professional living in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana or California.
Once selected, the artist will receive a commission of $90,000 – this is a design contract for $10,000 and a fabrication/installation contract of $80,000.
