Call To Artists for Seattle Public Portable Art Works Collection

A piece in the Seattle Portable Art Collection – ‘Laundry Day’ by Mike Ferguson, 2017

The City of Seattle owns over 3,000 art works in its Civic Art Collection; collected over 40 years.  The Office of Arts & Culture (ARTS), in partnership with Seattle City Light, invites artists to submit images of two-dimensional art work and wall-hanging sculptures for the Civic Art Collection.  These art works would be part of the Seattle City Light portable works collection, managed by ARTS, for display throughout city art galleries and offices.

For this call, the maximum measurement for the art work is 48’ x 48’ x 5’ and it can not weigh more than 50 pounds.  The art works submitted for purchase must be valued at under $2,500 each.  Art work not conforming to these qualifications may be disqualified.

All professional artists who are residents of the Pacific Northwest (Washington, Oregon, British Columbia, Montana, Idaho, and Alaska,) are eligible for this Call.

This Call for Artists deadline is 11:59p on Thursday, May 7th.  This gives all professional artists time to find something in their collection, or to create something, that would fit this Portable Art Collection.
