On Sunday, May 1st, starting at 3p, the Fremont Arts Council will hold their annual celebration of spring, the rites of fertility, and rebirth, at the Lower Woodland Park Shelter #6. Bring friends, family and children of all ages to the May Day Potluck & Ribbon Weaving.
Dressed in white, costume or other festive attire, bringing blankets, food to share & drink, participants can enjoy an afternoon of games, rowdy springtime rituals and music. A Green Man and May Queen will be chosen, led by a fleet-footed fool, and will help with the dance and weaving of ribbons around the maypole.
A potluck meal will be held, with BBQ grills available for use (bring your own coals,) although dishes, cups & utensils also need to be packed in (and out.) Bring a flashlight as well, to help clean up.
Celebrate the arrival of spring, with fun and friends and the Fremont Arts Council. Find more details on the FAC website.
